Giving Back to the Community

BWE is proud of its history of investing in the community. In these difficult times we recognize the importance of supporting local and national causes that make a difference to so many lives.

We hope you will join us in giving back to the community. Whether volunteering time, or donating money, every little bit counts.

In 2010 BWE focused its donation efforts on four charitable organizations: Food Bank of Orange County, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army and Toys for Tots.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County
Second Harvest Food Bank is a voice for the hungry of Orange County, as reaches out into the community with programs which get food to people in need. The Food Bank currently serves 450 member charities to reach the hungry, including church pantries, shelters, senior and rehabilitiation centers, homes for abused women and children as well as other emergency assistance organizations. Those served include the working poor, children, seniors on fixed incomes, single parents, the disabled, the homeless and individuals experiencing medical emergencies or recent job layoffs. American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. The American Cancer Society has offices across the country, which host events and fundraisers throughout the year. Offering support and assistance to sufferers, ACS campaigns for investigator-initiated, peer-reviewed research likely to solve cancer problems. The ACS programs recognize the importance of caregivers, survivors, and the family and friends of patients.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army is helping people with the every day necessities of life - food, shelter and warmth - in communities across the United States. Programs include youth camps, recreation, elderly services and disaster relief. In addition the Salvation Army offers drug and alcohol rehabilitation and is active in the fight against human trafficking.

Toys for Tots
Each year donated and purchased toys are delivered to children who are less fortunate. The toys collected during the three month toy drive are supplemented with toys purchased with donations. There are approximately 700 local Toys for Tots coordinators and support groups across the country.
